1. Cotton University has been established by an Act of Assam Legislative Assembly, Cotton University Act 2017, upgrading the 117 year of old Cotton College. The University intends to build an institute of excellence for higher studies and research. For academic leadership during initial years, the University invites academic leaders, who are Professors of existing Government Universities/Institutions, to join Cotton University. Professors for any of the existing disciplines of Cotton University and also for the planned disciplines of Law, Management, Mass Communication, and Library Science will be engaged through invitation.
2. Expression of interest or nomination is invited from/for existing Professors of Government Universities/Institutions to join Cotton University as Professor for a tenure of minimum 2 years and maximum 3 years. Interested Professors may express their willingness. Persons in the rank of Professor or higher posts may also nominate suitable and eligible Professor(s) if they intend to. The engagements will be through deputation/lien from their existing employers.
3. While the current pay will be protected as per norms, additional incentives like accommodation etc. for outstation Professors may be considered, if necessary.
4. It is expected that the intending Professors have diverse and result-oriented experience and contributions in their own discipline. Professors so appointed would be expected to extend academic leadership through active participation in research motivation, curriculum design and development, planning, etc. in addition to specialized teaching.
5. Self EOI (expression of interest) or nomination with detailed CV (curriculum vitae) may be sent at the email id: teaching@cottonuniversity.ac.in at an early date preferably before 31^st March/2018. The University will decide on inviting such Professors through a process of screening.
